Since its founding in 1890, the University of Chicago Press has been a leader in advancing scholarly conversation and defining new areas of knowledge. Its mission is to publish works that promote education, foster public understanding, and enrich cultural life.


Office of Research

The Office of Research provides the central administrative support and resources for managing the University’s research enterprise. This includes research administration, research safety, research computing services, Globus, and research development support to facilitate new initiatives and build capacity across the University.

NORC at the University of Chicago

NORC at the University of Chicago is an objective, non-partisan research institution that delivers data and analysis to guide programmatic, business, and policy decisions. Founded in 1941 as the National Opinion Research Center, it has helped define the fields of social science and public opinion research.
